Ummm… *tries to fill given form*

Okay… I think that’s it. *gives form to Remilia* What do you think? *of course form is not even filled in half of things asked…*

Remilia barely glanced at it as the form was returned. Job applications and hiring was usually dealt with by the maids, not her, but this would be an exception. She had never encountered another vampire other than her sister and the lake guard, who was ways off from the mansion anyway. “A maid,” She said, rolling up the paper in her hand. “A maid has many jobs. Cooking, sweeping, dusting, filing. You’ve been put ahead of the waiting line, as I’m sure being a vampire you’re much more capable than any idiotic, china-dropping fairy.”

A Vampire and a Satori: Two Mistresses’ Afternoon.

eyeofsickness:

“Ah, yes.” Satori agreed. “But I should think that those that greet with danmaku and bullets are more in the veins of a certain Shrine Maiden and her friends. I would rather greet with a smile and a gift.” Satori smiled as her host partook in her food. “I’m glad that it’s to your satisfaction,” she said. “I was afraid that it wouldn’t be as good as what you are used to.” After all, it was Satori’s creation, those sweets.

Satori took mental note of each places. It was always good to be familiar with a place, even when there was probably no reason to take such meticulous mental notes. It was just a habit from old days. “Ah?” She had eaten, but from Chireiden to Koumakan was a long way. “I-I suppose if it’s not too much trouble, I could inconvenience you a bit.” She smiled, grateful for her host’s hospitality. “What’s above those staircases?” She asked, trying to get their minds off of food while they awaited.

A small smile tugged at her lips. Wordlessly, she spun on her heel and started up the steps. “The balcony.” She said half to herself. The two had ascended to the top where a pleasant scene greeted them. It was indeed a balcony that stretched out before them; white tiled stone that glinted in the pale light— what little of it that peaked over the copse of trees that bordered the mansion’s rear. The orange and yellow glow that announced the beginning of sunset shone bright against the crystalline curtains of tiny ornaments that hung about the columns at either end of the balcony. Various potted plants were set around its perimeter, and there was the slight fragrance that accompanied the potted plants’ sweet ones. A bit of spice that gave indication to the plants that grew beneath the balcony.

Remilia had her hands clasped behind her back. Her expression was serene, but it barely lasted five seconds before her attention snapped back to Satori. Right, she had nearly forgotten about her guest. The vampire could not help but feel rather foolish. “The balcony,” She repeated. “My favorite place. You must be bored out of your mind, having listened to my speech on how absolutely grand my home is. To be honest though, I would be delighted to continue my boasting.” Remilia shrugged, and gave a dramatic sigh. “I suppose it can’t be helped; I’ll suspend it for now. Special treatment from yours truly. So, changing the subject now— I haven’t asked about you.” She nodded toward a table near the railing. A tray of pastries and two steaming cups of tea lay undisturbed. “Let’s eat while we talk.”

dante-filik:

Dante glares at the vampire. As much as he hates admitting it, she was right. He needed to figure something out quick. The child was completely out of his range for him to use his blade.

Dante did thought of throwing his sword, but that’ll be the most stupidest thing he would’ve ever done.

“Tell you what. Since obviously my disadvantage in the sunlight isn’t enough, you can even ask Patchy to help.” The vampire nodded her head at a woman that stood a good distance away from them, reading a book. She paid no attention to either one of them.

The man turned his head towards the direction the vampire nodded at. It wasn’t surprising that Dante didn’t notice the woman up ‘til now. After all, he was (and still is) too occupied dealing with an annoying childish vampire to have take notice of her.
Dante glanced back at the vampire who now wore an amusing smile on her face; he wasn’t the type to ask for help. He closed his eyes for a moment to think and exhaled. “Hey,” he said loudly in hopes for the purple-clad woman, deeply absorbed in her book, to hear him.

Remilia waited with uncharacteristic patience, eyebrows raised expectantly.

Miss Patchouli Knowledge, librarian of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, and much referred to as the Great Unmoving Library herself. Though her deep understanding in the arts of magic and nearly unmatched knowledge from years of reading branded her respectable and shrewd, it was thought by many, aside from few who were close, that her admirable characteristics were balanced out by a not-so-friendly personality. The magician’s words at times tended to border on hostility at times, and was simply enigmatic at others. But like everyone else in Gensokyo, there was something enticing about battle; the need to display skill, and the satisfying feeling of putting power to use. And of course, for the fun of it.

Patchouli gave a small nod in acknowledgement, and lowered the book so it just covered the tip of her chin. “A rather churlish way to seize a lady’s attention, but I suppose it serves its purpose.” She said dryly. Her voice was monotone, uncaring. For a moment the girl lifted her lavender eyes off the slightly frayed pages of her book and met his, before flitting back down. The magician turned a page silently, clearly expecting the man to continue.

Oh… I see, then lead the way. This mansion is big, so it will be good if I won’t get lost.

[This won’t influence anything but I made fun thread about this topic]

“Yes, well. Come along. Like I’ve said before, you’ll be required to fill out several forms regarding your personal information, why you came to work, etc. Although from what I’ve gathered so far, you don’t have much to tell.” She lazily passed one of the forms, and produced an inked pen from… somewhere. “Fill out what you can.”

Hachi put a hand up to her chin and hummed in thought Is Sakuya my Mother? I know I’m an only child… and it is true I don’t know my mother past the box she gave me… “Maybe, Do you think you can set it up so I can meet her perhaps? it would be easier then guessing right?”

“You’re right. It would be. But do you know what would have been even easier? If your supposed mother told me from the start.” There was an edge to her voice, but she continued. “How old is Sakuya? It’s hard to tell, what with human aging and the like.” The girl droned on, seeming to ignore Hachi completely and turned away.

I guess I just need to go there. *and so she goes to Mansion*

Remilia was waiting at the gates, tapping impatiently with her foot. Upon the other vampire’s arrival, she gave a quick nod and ushered her through to the mansion. “I would show you around before putting you to work, but you’ll be familiar with the place soon enough.”

dante-filik:

The man squinted as he looked into the sky; the sunlight was bright as ever. The vampire seemed no bigger than a pebble from below. Dissatisfaction was written all over his face upon seeing tiny little orbs appear around her.

“What are you waiting for! Come up and fight!”

Come up and fight? Dante didn’t know what the child was expecting. Humans couldn’t fly or so he thought. Perhaps he lacked the knowledge in the art of flight, simply because he never encountered any flying humans in his life.

The blonde gripped his sword tightly and lowered his stance, preparing to dodge. Whatever those little orbs are, it didn’t seem like it was there for decoration.

It had been at least five seconds and neither side made a move yet.

“………” Dante continued to stare at what seemed to be Remilia; a speck of a black dot, the size of pebble.

“Oh?” Remilia tilted her head to the side, gazing at Dante with wide eyes and a look of mock concern. “What’s wrong? Are you afraid? Don’t want to fight anymore? Or perhaps…” Her hand moved to her mouth and her grin widened. “Dear me! Is it because you can’t fly?”

The girl flew about overhead in an almost taunting manner. The red bullets that dotted the sky remained in place, but it was duplicating. Rapidly. “Hey, now!” She called down. “You’d best figure something out quick, human. Dodging these hellish bullets isn’t much fun on the ground, I can tell you by experience. So why don’t you impress me?” Remilia swooped down and hovered a few feet off the ground facing him. Her arms and legs were crossed, and there was an air of superiority about the girl. Despite her looks, she certainly knew how to be assertive. “Tell you what. Since obviously my disadvantage in the sunlight isn’t enough, you can even ask Patchy to help.” Remilia nodded her head at the purple clad bookworm who, sure enough, was reading one that very moment. The magician seemed to be immersed in the volume, and showed no indication of interest. “That is, of course, if she’s willing to.”

A Vampire and a Satori: Two Mistresses’ Afternoon.

eyeofsickness:

Satori smiled at Remilia’s interaction with the gatekeeper. She was reminded of the gatekeeper back home, who had also been like that. “Thank you for your warm welcome,” Satori said with an air of dignity. “I’ve heard much about you and your mansion, of course.” She waved at the gatekeeper almost apologetically, sorry to have gotten her into trouble. “I also assume that you’ve heard of me?” After all, it was Remilia who arranged this visit.

“I was made to understand that this was a visit that’s informal,” Satori said, upon entering. “So I apologise if my apparel isn’t quite up to the surface’s standard.” She had on press pink dress and a light blue blouse, making for a contrast that somehow worked really well without looking garish. She also produced a small parcel, apparently confectioneries. “I have a policy of always visiting with a gift to the host. This is for you and your sweet gatekeeper,” she said. “It’s just sweets. It isn’t anything big, I’m sorry. I’ve just been swamped with work and couldn’t prepare a more elaborate gift.”

Her eyes lit up at the gift. “Oh no, don’t worry about that. Most people shoot bullets as a way of greeting here; enemy or not. You know how it is,” Remilia said with a chuckle. She accepted the sweets, unwrapping one and popping it into her mouth before stashing the rest away. The girl nodded in satisfaction. ”Not bad.”

Remilia led the girl through the mansion, giving a brief tour and pointing out the different sections of the mansion. Eventually, they stopped at a set of spiral staircases leading to a room above. A cool breeze wafted through with the mixed scents of flowers, indicating their location near the mansion’s expansive back garden. Remilia tilted her head and gave Satori a questioning look. “Have you eaten yet, Satori? I think I’m getting a little hungry myself.” She pouted down at her stomach and patted it with a look of discontent.

dante-filik:

Dante hesitated before lunging at her. There was a reason why he was prohibited from dueling anyone back in the city. He simply couldn’t hold back; in result there were dozens of casualties from mock battles or duels he participated in. The man swung his blade several times, none of them were able to hit the girl. He continued to press forward in battle sending out a barrage of different slashes. Of course, the vampire remained unscathed; she had dodged them all swiftly with ease. Not one was able to graze or even scratch her.

Dante instinctively returned to his battle stance once he saw her crimson eyes glow.

“Ahah-! What is this? You’re expecting to land a hit with just that?” He swung the sword with impressive speed, but for Remilia, dodging the man’s attacks was nothing more than child’s play. The vampire swerved to avoid the impending blade aimed for her head. “Pathetic.” Bounding off her feet with an abrupt flip, she shifted her positioned into what resembled a fighting stance. The man did the same, and her eyes glowed with enthusiastic glee. “My turn now.”

Her hands tensed and stiffened, knees bent, and after a brief pause, the girl shot straight up into the sky. It only took less than 5 seconds to reach the point where Dante looked no bigger than a pebble. Releasing the energy in her body, round, circular, scarlet-red danmaku took form within seconds. The bullets spread about the sky, and the grinning vampire called down to her opponent. “What are you waiting for! Come up and fight!”

“Eh, alright then. You’ll be starting off working with the fairies since you’re new. Follow me.” Remilia jumped into the air, wings unfurling as she did so, and looked over her shoulder. “The mansion’s over this way, and when you arrive you’ll be required to fill out several applications and forms.”

And why do you think I wouldn’t be able to follow you? I can get everywhere. (If you don’t fly…)

“Because eventually I’ll get annoyed, and when I get annoyed, I tend to injure the person annoying me. Very badly. Your problems are none of my concern, and the best thing I can do is offer you a job. Work, and you’ll get a place to stay and meals to eat. Sounds fair, don’t you think?”
